Debra Dean

Debra Dean was born in Seattle and worked as an actor in New York theater for a decade before opting for the life of a writer and teacher. She is the bestselling author of four critically acclaimed books that have been published in twenty-one languages. Her debut novel, THE MADONNAS OF LENINGRAD, was a New York Times Editors’ Choice, a #1 Booksense Pick, a Booklist Top Ten Novel, and an American Library Association Notable Book of the Year. Her newest book is HIDDEN TAPESTRY: Jan Yoors, His Two Wives, and the War That Made Them One. Debra lives in Miami and is on the faculty of the Creative Writing Program at Florida International University.She and her husband, Cliff, live in Miami, where she teaches at the University at Miami.
